Right next to the Schinkel canal, you can find this nice bar. You can find different Dutch and Belgium beers as well as different types of cocktails. The staff is really friendly

Fantastic location but service can be painfully slow if you're sitting outside towards the water. Good place to hang out with friends for drinks. Staff is very polite and chilled out.
Bar Leijten is located in a nice spot alongside De Schinkel river, with the terrace catching the evening sun. Friendly staff that quickly serves your order. Sadly I found the menu lacking in its selection of beers and foods (only finger foods). If you like to drink wine, you'll be happier with the selections though. Overall Leijten deserves a thumbs up.
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant/bar. It is family-owned and operated, who are genuine class acts and are really fun people. I went during the evening hours to meet up a good friend who is an Amsterdam local, throwing a get together for work colleagues. The ambiance is casual, but has a very hip feel (in a good way). Not sure what it looks like during the day, but at night, space is cleared out for socializing and the service is quick, friendly and fun. The father also went around with some hor d’oeuvres that were delicious. So if that’s any indication of how the food is at the restaurant during the day, then I’m sure it’s amazing.
If you’re looking for a great time to catch up with a friend, meet other fun locals or want to grab a drink at a cool relaxed bar, then this is your place. I would also recommend trying their full menu during the day!
